Seriously

time needs to slow down... Jaxon is now 1 month old and i really don't know where that time went to... he is becoming very aware of all around him now and he follows things around when i move them...growing up so big and i still love getting in all the cuddles i can now until he gets too big for mummy time cuddles LOL

hoping he will always love mummy cuddles...
it was my birthday last thursday...another year older but thats ok as i have the best family to grow old with now...i got very spoilt by hubby and my gorgeous kids and of course my wonderful man made me my favourite pavlova for my birthday cake it was yummy...

on saturday we went off to kaitlyn's physie christmas party that was held at the pools... was very proud of my girl getting a trophy and new sash to carry all her medals on... it was a warm day so it was lucky we spent it all at the pools and even Jaxon got to have his first swim in the big pool
ok off to be creative (or try to be LOL)

2 1/2 weeks old

We are all slowly settling into new baby in the house routine... its been great having hubby home for the last 2 weeks while we all got settled in...he is back to work tomorrow so its time for me to get into our own routine and see how we go...

Jaxon is doing so well now and has put on quite a bit of weight which is great after all the weight he lost when he was born...he is now 3.6 kgs and getting those chubby cheeks back again... such a good sleeper which we are very blessed with, sleeping at least 4-5 hour stints each night then feed and back to sleep...couldn't ask for a better little man....

isn't he just divine lol (of course I'm biased i can be I'm his mum lol)

so since we have been home I've been quite crafty doing a secret project for a christmas present so i can't share just yet... hoping to get a start of jaxon's album soon i have it all set out just need to get motivated to start on it... but with the weather so hot lately its too hot to sit out in my craft room...hopefully this week i might be able to ...

ok sharing a few more photos of our little man...just cause i can...
check out our little elephant

he loves being wrapped but he is a little houdini and gets his hands out lol

not a very good pic but check out the hands and how he looks so at peace in his rocker...

ok thats it for now ill be back with my cuteness for sure lol

Welcome to our little family Jaxon

Well I now can finally share my exciting news...

On Wednesday 5th November 2014 we welcomed our gorgeous bundle of joy Jaxon Gregory George Milne into our family....

He was born via c section at 8:43am weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces (3800 kg) and measuring 48cm in length...

Bit of a hard start for our little man with him being put into special care for 12 hours after birth due to swallowing too much fluid... he was kept in a humidicrib to try and dry out the fluid....so it was a bit hard not being able to hold him for that time....

Finally he came out of special care only to be put back in 3 days later due to not feeding properly and losing too much weight and slight jaundice... they never found out why (although he was given antibiotics which really helped) but finally 1 week after he was born he was allowed to come home and we were all very happy that our boy was finally on the road to a healthy life...
Everyone is so excited to have a new one in our family but most of all daddy who is a first timer... he is very smitten with his son and won't stop staring at him lol... his big sister is also very much in love with him and being such a big help which is great to see (all she wanted was a brother LOL)
so our little family is now complete and i couldn't be happier... now to get back into some sort of normality with a new bub... and hopefully we will get into a routine soon so i can get into some crafty stuff like starting on his baby album...

off to check on my little man (ok must stop staring at him LOL babies are such time wasters LOL)

Work in Progress projects...

Its starting to get warm here and I'm loving it... October already and the year is nearly over....still got lots to look forward to which i will be able to share in the next few weeks....

But with the warm weather its been fun getting out and enjoying the time in the sun... we have been doing lots of gardening around the house with our vege garden now planted and growing nicely... just have to do a bit more with the front garden then it will be nice again...its good that it is now daylight savings so much more light in our days to get the things done that we need to get done.... Kaitlyn was even a loving daughter and washed my car....

crafty wise not a lot happening... trying to get a few crochet projects completed that have been sitting here for a while now.... so this weekend I'm planning on trying to finish off one of those WIP's (bathurst car racing is on my hubbies fav weekend, so its good to sit and watch that and crochet at the same time)....

ok so I'm thinking i have to write a list of all the projects that i need to get completed... it could be a long list so i might write it here then i can see how I'm going

  • finish of ellie the elephant crochet project
  • complete more of the chevron crochet blanket
  • start mini album
  • finish crochet socks
  • wedding album complete some more
  • complete some more cross stitch of teddies

ok thats it for now some of those are big projects to get finished and some are just a work in progress for a long time i think LOL... one day ill catch up with everything and be able to start all the nice new things i want to start... (must stay off pinterest till all these projects are nearly completed lol)

ok back to crocheting...till next time

PenPal letters

Back again i know i know another long time in between posts... but i have been busy with lots of family things happening and just normal general life especially getting over the whole household getting very sick with the dreaded flu....

So in the mean time lots has been happening... Craig and I finally bought a new computer and I've gone over to the MAC side LOL... really loving it so far but still learning what i can do and what i can't do anymore....

crafty wise my wonderful husband that he is has just finished building my craft room for me... at the back of our house we are living in was a sun room my nan and pop used to sit out in, so Craig has transformed this little room into my craft room and I'm loving it...its actually inspired me to get back into my scrapping and other crafty things i do (including writing pen pal letters now but more on that soon)....here are a few shots of my new room

Looking from the back door my smaller peg board for chipboard, bling and all my sprays etc

this is my work station desk with the silhouette cameo, printers and sewing machine

this is a pic of the large pegboard which has all my embellishments, letter stickers etc on it
this is my desk... the blinds open up onto our large backyard so its nice in the warm weather to have them open and watch all the gorgeous birds we get here....

so that is my new scrap area and I'm very pleased with how its turned out... now to start getting creative again which I'm looking forward to...
speaking of that i joined in a swap called creative pen pals over on Melissa Goodsells blog. I got partnered with a girl from England so its going to be fun learning all about her and her country... i received my first letter from her and its interesting to read how much we have in common so its going to be lots of fun...I've just finished writing my letter back to her and its ready to post off... love that you can get creative with it (she is also a scrapbooker) so I've used stamps and washi tape to add crafty stuff to a normal letter....
my first penpal letter i received
my letter written and ready to send tomorrow... looking forward to getting more letters soon...
ok that's about it...school holidays here at the moment so I've been busy with Kaitlyn just doing normal stuff that we do...she has a friend over tonight so its lots of giggles and girly talking i can hear..lets hope they actually sleep... tomorrow I'm hoping to get some crafty stuff done before i go back to work on Wednesday....
ok that's defiantly it now lol chat later

Starting to blog again...

Well I think I might lol...I say this alot and it gets further and further behind....

So let's see what's been happening...
Kaitlyn has been enjoying being back at physie this year...the usual comps have started again so it's a busy time here lately getting her prepared for them all...she has competed in 2 so far this year and has done extremely well..
These girls have become fast friends which is great to see...kaitlyns new club is awesome with all the teachers and other members being so supportive of each other which is great for all the girls wether they place in comps or not...

Other family news is not that exciting lol. It's been pretty quiet around here since we are in winter and it's so cold (today is very wet and cold). And being busy with kaitlyn's dancing so not much time to do anything else... Craig's work is keeping him busy but he is still enjoying it which is great to see... My work is still the same and I'm still enjoying that also...

Crafty stuff I've still been my usual self and have so many projects on the go lol... I just can't help myself...my scrapbooking has been non existent for awhile but hoping to get back into that soon when I get my room organized...it's a bit cold to do anything out there at the moment since it's on the back verandah but hoping to get it enclosed and it will be really nice in summer to sit out there...
So my other projects I'm working on are my cross stitch..been a work in progress for a very long time but I do keep coming back to it...I've also found some other really nice cross stitch patterns I want to work on also but I've promised hubby I won't start anything else till my other projects are finished lol....
I've set up a sewing corner in my lounge room where I can sit with the family but still be crafty...I made myself a tray to store stuff in when I'm crafting so it stops dropping on the floor...
I've also got 2 crochet projects on the go as well lol...see told you I had lots of WIPS on the go....
First is my chevron blanket
And the other is another special project for someone special...hoping to get this one finished soon...it's coming along pretty fast so I might be able to cross this one off my list very soon...

I suppose that's one good thing about winter it's too cold to go outside so I get more time to craft...

But I must stay off the computer if I'm going to get anything done...so best head off now need to finish this special project off very soon...

Till next time

Another long break between posts

So again I have been very slack with posting to my blog, but lots has been happening these last few months and lots of excting things are happening in our household (some of which I wont share just yet on the internet)... but its going to be a very busy last few months of this year for our family thats for sure...

One thing that has happened lately is that we have moved again... yes i know again... in our 2 years of marriage this would now be our 4th move LOL...my lovely Pop has allowed us to move into his home (he now lives permantley with my parents)... so its been a lot of hard work getting it all ready to live in but we are slowly getting there... Craig has been repainting the rooms of the house (which is 60 years old) and we are finally nearly settled in and unpacked... just need to organise my scrap stuff a bit more then i can share photos of my new space....

this is our new home... love that it has always been our family home with my grandparents living in this home for nearly 60 years and now we get to live in it too....

so thats all we have been up to these last few months and weeks...work is still busy for us both and Kaitlyn is on school holiddays at the moment... she did extremely well in her half yearly report for year 8 we are very proud of what she is achieving at high school... she is still doing her physie dancing with a competition coming up very soon so getting lots of practice in for them....

she is growing up way too fast....

well off to clean up and get ready to go and pick her up...then get ready for another busy week that just seem to fly by...
I hope to be back more now (we will see LOL)

A few things

Well it's been a few ups and downs since my last blog post....
On the 10th feb our gorgeous nana passed away...she had been dealing with dementia and it was just her time to go...I got to say goodbye to her which I'm so glad that I did and I know now she is at peace...
I miss her heaps but remember her for who she was... One thing that I will always remember was how creative she was doing so many crafts... Her main love was knitting and I'm so glad that her creativeness has passed on through generations with my mum being very creative also and I'm so glad that I also enjoy being creative with my new love of crocheting (inspired by my nana)

One of the things my pop gave me that was my Nan's was all her wool and craft boxes...I had fun today going through it all remembering all that she did in her life...

I also got given one of her diamond enternity rings and a silver chain with her star sign charm on it...her star sign was Sagittarius which is the same as mine both of us with December birthdays so it was nice to have it as a special reminder of her....kaitlyn was very lucky and was given her wedding rings and we both got some gorgeous tea cup and saucer set that she had....so lots of very nice things to remember her by.

So other then that I have been doing lots of crocheting ...I have started a shoulder wrap for kaitlyn she loves the hunger games so I'm attempting to make her the Katniss shawl that was worn in the movie.
So far so good this being my first attempt at crocheting clothing.

I'm also still completing my mood blanket again I'm a few behind but I'll slowly catch up soon I hope...
Oh and another project I attempted was to crochet some hand towels that I gave to my mum. This was another thing my nana used to do...
They turned out exactly like hers....

And today I received my first package for the autumn yarn club I have joined...I saw this on Instagram and decided it looked like fun it's through a lady here in Australia named Jodie from jellywares... And WOW the package I received was amazing....

I'm just about to get started on it...don't want to get behind lol....just another project on the go....
Ok best get started this post has been huge so better stop here...
Till next time... Xoxo

Another crochet project

So hubby is attempting to make his own ginger beer from scratch...it's smelling really good so far but part of the process was that the ginger had to sit in a jar for up to 7 days...so all instructions said to put a doily on top of the jar...so in my whole crochet obsession right now I decided to attempt to make one for him to use...
Using this gorgeous book I got from mum and dad for christmas I used a pattern for this doily from it...this shows about half way done...my first time at using very thin cotton and small hook so it took a bit of getting used to...but I eventually got the hang of it...

The end result was better then I expected...I blocked it out for the rest of the afternoon and it turned out excellent...very happy with the results
This is what it's being used for my husbands attempt at ginger beer the first stage...
Now that that is done I'm off to try and catch up with my mood blanket I'm a bit behind due to family things that have happened in the past few weeks....
 Happy crafting everyone

What I have been up to...

Been busy these last few weeks with work and home life...school is back for another year with kaitlyn starting year 8 this year...she is much happier now that she has moved classes...so I'm hoping it will stay that way for her...

Apart from the usual busy work schedule I've fitted in some crocheting time of course...
My mood blanket is coming along well and I'm up to date... This block is the whole of January...

I'm loving how it's turning out so far something different for me... Hubby and I went shopping for some more yarn to add in more colours so being the wonderful hubby he is he sat that night winding them all for me...
Told you I have a great husband....

I've also started to finish off another blanket for someone special....(I have lots of projects on the go lol) this is going to be completed using the CAL from www.spincushions.com lots of fun things to learn....

So I've been reading lots of crochet blogs lately and many talk about blocking your crochet items etc so I did some research and decided it was way to expensive here in Australia to buy one so I made my own and it works so well..definately will be blocking lots of my squares now...

They look so nice and neat now...

Ok off to relax and watch willy wonkas chocolate factory with my hubby and gorgeous girl....

More crocheting

Well it seems this crocheting bug has hit me hard...I'm loving sitting creating these fun things with yarn and really learning lots now that I can read patterns properly...

I'm really enjoying my mood blanket and happy to say that I'm nearly up to date (well I will be tonight that's for sure). Here is my efforts so far

I got to go yesterday and get some more colours which is good now I have plenty for each day of the month...
In between this project I've been catching up on blog reading and more crocheting and came across this fun project of making dish cloths so I thought I would give it a go and see how good they work...just used a simple pattern for this one
Now I'll go and catch up on my mood blanket and find some fun colours to use

Australia Day 2014

Off on a fun fwding adventure today for Australia Day... We had lots of fun with my parents and us heading up the mountains...it was a bit wet but that made it more fun and we got to have our lunch just before the rain set in...
This was the start of the track... It's not a bad one but we had heaps of fun and can only be acsessed by 4wd...
Dad's car coming down the hill...
Gregdad and kaitlyn on our bush walk...
Craig being his usual silly self...
On our way out we did a detour and went through where the huge bush fires were last September and we found this memorial for the fire fighters was very well done...

Then we headed home for afternoon tea and mum fixed my crochet project that started falling apart lol... I now know how to stitch them together properly...
Off to crochet some more

Xoxo
